Karuizawa Distillery 軽井沢蒸溜所
Established in 1955, Karuizawa distillery was a Japanese whisky distillery, It was located at Miyota, a town on the southern slopes of an active complex volcano, Mount Asama in Japan.
In 1952, before the creation of the Karuizawa Distillery, the Ocean saké began to produce whisky in Shiojiri, but to showcase it, it was routed to the Karuizawa farm, which produced wine in 1955. The construction of the Distillery began and the production of whisky began in 1956.
Aged with Sherry barrels and using Asama mountain water, he storage was maintained at an ideal temperature and humidity by being covered with straw.
