Hibiki meaning "resonance" or "echo" in Japanese, for producing the blends, more than 30 whiskies were used from Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries including some that were aged more than 30 years, and some that were aged in old umeshu casks, the process "Gives it a very sweet and gentle flavor".

The Hibiki bottle always has 24 facets representing the 24 seasons of the Japanese lunar calendar. The bottle and box are then decorated by chrysanthemum flowers and Crane birds.
