The winemakers of these steep hillsides perched above the river interpret the power of the granites with more subtlety, Cornas' past was glorious, more so than that of Côte-Rôtie. At the end of the 19th century, it was considered to be the second great wine of the northern Rhône Valley after the Hermitage.
