This village is located in the vineyards of the Côte de Beaune, famous for its great white wines of Meursault, Puligny-Monrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, but also for its reds of Pommard, Volnay.

Its history is intimately linked to the quality of its wines, which have aroused all kinds of covetousness, in the thirteenth century, the Dukes of Burgundy already owned a plot of land, but the Lords of Vergy and the Knights of Saint-Jean-de-Jérusalem were also owners.
