Bathed in sunlight on the western ridges of the Mayacamas Mountains at the northern end of the Mount Veeder appellation, the Veeder Peak estate vineyard sits at 1,800 feet in elevation. Since 1995, Lokoya has produced a Cabernet Sauvignon from a selection of blocks situated on the steep, mountainous terrain.

Tar and earth are the first notions on the nose, followed by sumptuous blueberry fruit. The palate, powerful and bold, then reveals a lovely purity of ripe blueberry, framed by notions of pine forest, vanilla and very dense, fine, ripe tannins supported by both alcoholic strength and freshness. There is something touching about the purity of that fruit.
