Château Le Pin has got its name after a solitary pine growing near the winery.

Since 1924 Château Le Pin had belonged to the Laubie family, but in 1979 it was sold to the Thienpont family who already owned the neighboring Château Certan, The vineyard stretches over 5 hectares of fertile land of sandy gravel on bedrock of limestone.
