Shinjiro Torrii founded his Suntory Company in 1899, making a fortune with Akadama Port Wine, then Torrii was looking for his next business and move into Whisky production with Masataka Taketsuru, a Sake brewer, Torrii started constructing Japan's first malt whisky distillery, Yamazaki, in 1923.

A very elegantly produced Suntory, aged for 12 years and masterfully blended.
