Shinshu Mars distillery 信州マルス蒸留所 is a Japanese whisky distillery located in Japan’s Alps, it is owned by Hombo Shuzo a Japanese "shōchū" maker based in Kagoshima Prefecture, The Hombo family have been distilling for more than a century and started whisky in 1949.

They now age spirits from both Shinshu and Tsunuki distilleries in Yakushima, a National World Heritage site.

Mars Shinshu might not be the largest whisky distillery.
This particular bottle is a Mars Shinshu Nagano Ken Limited edition release.
