It is one of the few major Champagne houses to still be owned by the same family since 1776, Pinot Noir is the majority of the 240 hectares of the Louis Roederer vineyard, spread over the Montagne de Reims, the Marne Valley and the Côte des Blancs.

The grapes are picked and then transported to the presses of the house and pressed close to the place of harvest, The musts obtained are then transported to the cellars where they are vinified separately, plot by plot, in oak barrels.

The characteristics and typicities of each of the 410 plots are thus respected until the moment of blending from this huge range of wines, The Cristal cuvée is made only during the "great years".
